Bring some serious mid-century personality to your shelf with this whimsical pair of ceramic bird salt and pepper shakers.

Likely manufactured in Germany during the 1940s or 1950s, these hand-painted birds are classic post-war kitsch. Each one has a glossy cobalt blue head, cream belly, green wings, brown beak with orange trim, and those iconic wide-eyed “googly” eyes that collectors love. The pointed heads double as shakers — one with 5 holes, one with 6.

They’re full of character and would be right at home in a retro kitchen, cottagecore display, or salt & pepper collection.
